Grading in IB

There are 4 criterions in each subject area.

The grading scale is from 1-8. These numbers turn into letter grades in order to meet National Requirements. (RVMS does award and communicate grades through IC) -more details below.

There are 2 different grades on IC: (it's usually updated weekly)

Work Habits ( PACK and Assignments)

Content Knowledge ( Assessments and Projects-based on the 4 IB criterions)

At the end of each Quarter, students will receive a Final grade.

Important: Student who does not pass Spanish 1A with a minimum of a B as the total of the entire year, is recommended to re-take the language or choose a different one (eg. French or Chinese).
Criterions: To determine achievement from any amount of tasks.
A Communicating through Listening
B Interpreting Visual text
C Comprehending written text
D Communicating in written form
Work Habits: will be graded from 1-4
A/4=Consistently exceeds expectations
B/3=Consistently meets expectations
C/2=Inconsistently meets expectations
U/1 or 0=Does not meet expectations
Content Knowledge: will be graded from 1-8(Grade descriptors)
7-8-----Excellent (%- 7.0-8.9)
6-5-----Substantial(%-5.0-6.9)
4-3-----Adequate(%-3.0-4.9)
2-1-----Limited(%-1.0-2.9)
0-----Does not meet the standard
